I was suspended from driving for Lyft recently because I refused a drunk passenger with a pit bull. He complained the dog was his service dog and Lyft suspended me while they investigate the matter. I am supposed to hear from someone at Lyft to give my side of the story, but three days later no one has called me and no responses to my emails inquiring about the matter. Anyone have a similar experience? Were you reinstated? If so, how long did it take? Thanks.

Was the dog wearing a "service coat"? A service dog would have one.

No, the dog had no coat, vest or leash indicating service dog status.

I know the airlines have stopped letting all dogs on as service dogs. People are just lying to get their dogs on. I would not let one on without a coat.

Service dogs are not required to have a "coat". And you cannot request "papers".

You can ask two questions as I understand it:

    1) does the animal help with a disability
    2) what is the animal trained to do

It is against federal law to refuse a service animal.

I have a large beach type blanket in my trunk. If someone has a dog, I have them wait outside the car while I install the blanket before they and the animal can enter. I don't click "drop off" to end the ride until the blanket is stowed back in the trunk.
