Uber has used No Tipping as a major selling point to attract riders. I drive in New Jersey I think Uber should consider when riders are being dropped or picked up at transit hubs such as train, bus stations and airports that tips be allowed. Especially when you're assisting riders with luggage. It takes a lot not get out the car and assist a rider with luggage, especially when female.

Tips should be built into Uber, Lyft, and any service industry company's bill by law, a 20% tips automatically charged on the total bill, and directly and wholly transferred/paid to the service providers (TNC drivers, waiters, etc.).

I think I was able to decipher something out of this. Something about goo-goo and bozo. Bozo was one of my favorite clowns.

I rarely received a tip. It really frustrated me as I'm providing a service. I always tip service professionals because I used to be a waiter and understand the importance of tips. So what could I do to receive tips since I wasn't receiving many just for driving? I tested two ideas and as crazy as they sound, they worked!

    1. I have two signs that hang behind the driver and passenger seats that say "Will Tell Jokes for Extra Tip!". It works 6/10x. People love to laugh!

    2. I offer to sing karaoke. This is almost as successful because people love seeing me make a fool of myself!

You should try these too and let me know if they work for you!

I get tips occasionally. I have had great luck driving for Uber. I don't drive at night only in the mornings and afternoons. However, Uber failed to let me know that you have to have a Vehicle and driver permit in Dallas. Two tickets later...I found out the hard way.

That is so true Cleveland ,also one of the reasons why uber riders don't tip is most of them has never been in a taxi before because they could not afford it before uber came around, poor people should stay taking buses and not taxi and uber, this way they don't have to tip.

In layman terms Uber dropping their rates no means the poorest of the poor people can now afford to take a ride to the corner store or McDonald's while the drivers makes $2.10 to go 1.2 miles andand back and spend 30 minutes in the McDonald's line , I wonder how many trips would I have to make like that to put tires on my car.

Tip isn't needed. Mandatory or pressured tipping is morally bankrupt, IMO. Do you tip your plumber or house painter? No. They are paid for the service and a good service is expected.

I stopped driving for Uber because of the low class riders. Lack of tips, riders that tell you how to drive, riders that just flat out smelled like shit. Joined Lyft and never logged on to Uber ever again.

    Hello Everyone,
I'm one of the oldest Uber partners. I have fleet of vehicles in SF and setup slideshow for my drivers to stream on their's tablets with instructions to tip via PayPal Here. Slideshow contains major Bay Area Landmarks , some proverbs (updated weekly) ,jokes and our company advertisement. you can find link to slideshow here :
    http://www.ridecardinal.com/#!tip-your-drivers/opty1
Access is free. Use it and let me know how it works. We need to bring awareness to public.
For nominal fee $3-$4/ monthly I can remove my company advertisement .
